Did it again today! No lunges, for the knees' sake. Extra abs.
ALSO: I made some REALLY awesome muffins just now. They started with the Amish Friendship Bread starter that Kate gave me last October(?). That's basically this colony of bacteria that you feed every few days with flour, sugar, and milk, then every ten days or so you can bake a batch of muffins, and give two starters away to friends. I froze my starter over winter break and wasvery happy to find it still viable when I returned.
The normal recipe for Amish Friendship bread is found here: 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Bake in 2 greased or lined muffin pans for about 16 minutes at 350F.
As you can tell, I was approximating on a lot of those measurements - using just a one-cup measure, I kind of poured things out til it looked the right amount. I was SO happy with these, because usually my muffins from this recipe have turned out gluey or kind of bland. But these are light, have a good crumb, and really flavorful!
Now maybe I'll start doing some homework for a change... Or maybe make some polenta with marinara and artichoke hearts...
(P.S. I've been eating a lot out of my pantry lately, using up odds and ends... feels good to clear out old stuff and be inventive with stuff I have on hand, like the milled flax seed up there ^.)

Can you freeze an Amish friendship bread Starter?

I have a starter for Amish Friendship Bread. It has to be fed every 5-10 days with flour, milk, and sugar and then a third of it must be made into bread. I cant really keep up with it right now due to a busy schedule. Can I freeze it without killing it?
No you cant. You are making homemade Yeast, Extreme heat, and cold kills Yeast, it is better, just to give it to somebody, and let them feed it for you.
