Robert Stout earns a Podium Finish at his first Professional Race from St.Pete with World Challenge!!
BROWNSBURG, IN – March 28, 2010 – (Motor Sports Newswire) – The day started off with an incredible autograph session where hundreds of Sports Car fans showed up to meet some of the best drivers in the world!
When the green flag dropped it was a dog fight from beginning to end but when the smoke settled the #18 Lucas Oil was standing tall on the podium with a 2nd place finish!
During the podium interview Stout was powering down a RockStar Energy Drink as he thanked all of his supporters including Aviation Institute of Maintenance who joined the team this year and World Challenge who put on a fabulous event for the fans! Stout had a ferocious battle with the Honda who has qualified on the pole. For more than six laps towards the end of the 50 minute race he had pulled up beside the Honda at the end of the front straight away only to have the Honda slam the door on him every time!
“He made it tough no doubt but coming out of the karting world trained me for battles like this”, Stout said. “It was always hard to pass at the “Stars of Karting” events where the competition was so tough! Today was no different, this is what we live for, that was fun!!. It was really a game of patience, I just stayed on his bumper lap after lap pushing him harder and harder until he finally over drove turn one to far. The last two laps we went through turn two side by side banging off of each other so the war was on and the last time he leaned in on me hard so I checked up and he spun into the tire wall. Not only did it end his day but it bumped my team mate Dan Gardner on to the podium with me”!
