Dumb & Dumber
Today the title goes to Joe & one of his friends.
Friday night, Joe & his friend went to collect the friend’s newly purchased motorcycle. Used, but he got a good deal on it & he’s a mechanic, so he should be able to fix whatever ails it. Yesterday morning, here comes 2 friends, one with a 5-year-oldВ daughter in tow & the other with a girlfriend. They spent all day working on his motorcycle. They replaced the fuel pump & the filter, as well as some of the lines. They’re having trouble stopping the fuel line from kinking up & stopping the flow of the gas. And for some reason known on to God & themselves, they had rags with gas on them.
Chris & I go to bed last night, after everyone had left. Neither of us slept well. I kept smelling something that I thought was on Chris’ clothes. We got up this morning, came downstairs & was almost knocked over by the smell of gasoline. Chris asked if that was what I had been smelling. It was. He opened the door to the garage & found the source. An open container of gas as well as the rags. To put it mildly, he wasn’t a happy camper. He raised the garage door to let it air out. Cussing has he was going. (Chris seriously angry isn’t a pretty sight.) He went downstairs to check on the smell down there & Joe. He woke him up, he was fine & there was no smell down there. Figures. I checked on my last parakeet, who thought it was exceedingly poor taste to be uncovered before daylight. She squawked at me. But she’s fine.
Those morons left the gas container open, with gas doused rags laying beside it. Not thinking that the dangerous part of gas is the fumes. It’s too cold to open windows to let in fresh air, but the smell does seem to be dissipating.
Before he left, Chris announced the friend can park his bike in the garage, but they can’t work on it in the garage. Not if they can’t find anymore brains than they did yesterday.
