Shoot me, for I have been reading self-help books!
Anyway, I've started 2 different books and not been able to finish either. The one that is most relevant seems to think I want/need employees (no, I want to contract out shit I don't like doing, like patternmaking and accounting which are both things that can be contracted out!) and the one that is less relevant is written by an advertising exec who claims to be a "natural storyteller" and has "great relationship-building skills" and says he's "charming" and all the other crap that people think about themselves and I usually totally disagree with. Should I ever meet this author, I shall punch him in the nuts. His stories only tangentally bear upon the point he's making. I don't need "evidence" of the correctness of his theories when I don't really believe any version of a story is completely factual anyway. And you can't fucking skim the book because he puts the point in the MIDDLE of the story. I've been crunching numbers and it's depressing. To be able to maintain my standard of living and pay my bills and all that on income solely from my little business... I would have to have gross sales of at least $2500/month. To better my standard of living and be able to pay down my debt and save a little and all that good shit I would need at least $3000/month. I would have to sell about $100 worth of merch every day. But someday I might be able to make a living off making things and it'll never happen if I don't keep trying. To that end, I've finally given up trying to make my own screens for printing. I suck at it. I found someone who will make them for me. I sent out my first piece of artwork (Atropos, to make Lisa happy XD) to be made into a screen on Saturday and it's already on its way to me. As an aside... it's now 2:25am and I've just made myself a hotdog. Well, 2 hotdogs. In one bun. With processed "cheese" and more ketchup than necessary. This is just around 450 calories of crap. This is why I want to better my standard of living a bit. The fit of my jeans says I'm...
