You are bidding on a 1996 Chevrolet Z71, Silverado, extended cab, short bed, truck. I am the second owner of the truck. The first owner purchased the truck brand new from Smith Chevrolet here in San Antonio in 1996. I purchased the truck in the spring of 2003 in near completely original condition. I drove the truck as a daily driver till September of 2004, when the full custom suspension lift was professionally installed. Fabrication of suspension lift was completed in December of 2005. Since the lift was installed I have put approximately 4,000 miles on the truck. This is a very clean, non-smoking truck. The reason I am selling this truck is that it is no longer practical for my growing family and I really hate to see it sit in the driveway. Since lifted the truck was mostly driven to car and truck shows, parades, and occasionally to work. The truck has won "Best GM" and "Best Suspension System" in the Modified Class in 2006 and "Best Engineered" in the Modified Class in 2007 at the 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals. The truck is street legal in Texas because of the headlights not being over 54" off the ground and the tail lights are not over 72" off the ground. Here is a detailed list of the truck's features. Exterior: -Black color matched grill. Small crack over driver side head light. -Black replacement headlights, turn signals, and marker lights. -Drop down headlights. -Smoked LED rear tail lights. -Smoked LED third brake light. -LED blinker and light strip under rear bumper. -Kodiak sidewinder steps. -All moldings, trim, and emblems have been removed. -Dark window tint. -Power adjustable mirrors. -Tow package. Class 4 receiver hitch. -Bodyguard drop in bed liner. -Custom short mast antenna. -Front tow hooks. -No Body Lift. -Faded paint on the roof. -Scratches and minor dents on body. -2 keys with remote keyless entry. -New driver door exterior handle. Interior: -Black color matched dash bezel, glove box, ash tray, and door handle bezels. -Auto-meter A-pillar triple gauge pod. Blue G2 gauges. Gauges are not connected and can be changed out if different gauges are wanted or removed easily if desired. -Pioneer CD player with flip down face, sub woofer controls, XM compatible, with auxiliary Mp3 jack, ipod connection, A/V audio connection. -CB radio. -Push button 4x4. -Rockford Fosgate subwoofer amplifier. -12" Memphis Audio subwoofer in custom box. -Power driver seat. -Dual bucket seats with console. -Tilt wheel. -New front and rear speakers. -Power windows and locks. New driver door window motor. -New carpet in 2003. Cab floor under carpet is tan rhino truck bed liner. -Dome light with dual map lights. -Rubber floor mats. -Cold A/C with new hoses, evaporator, compressor switch, and dashboard control panel in 2004. -Small blemishes on headliner and seats. -Custom under dash cover panel, to hide underside of dash for clean look. Suspension: -Straight axle conversion with approximately 30" of lift, no body lift all suspension lift. -Truck measures 49" from the ground to the bottom of the body at the doors and the total height is about 8.5' tall. -Front suspension: SkyJacker Coil Springs, 2 ProComp Shocks, custom built 3-Link with rebuildable "Poly Flex Joints" -Rear suspension: Soft-ride 5 leaf spring packs, 4 ProComp Shocks, custom built drop shackles, custom built flip shackles, custom built traction bars with rebuildable "Poly Flex Joints" -Axles were sourced from a 1992 1-Ton Ford diesel truck. The Ford axles were used because of the driver side "pumpkin" on the axle which works with the driver side Chevrolet transfer case front drive shaft output. -Dana 60 1-Ton front axle with 5.13 gears and Detroit Locker. -Sterling 10.25 1-Ton rear floating rear axle with 5.13 gears and Detroit Locker. -Cut and turned axles. -Custom built dual cross-over steering with dual ProComp stabilizers. -Custom drop pit man arm. -Custom adjustable track bar. -Stainless steel braided brake lines. -Dual piston front calipers. -Emergency cables are needed to be installed and are included with the truck. -The brakes are a little "spongy" during hard braking, but should be corrected after new emergency brake cables are installed. I maintain tension on the rear drum brakes through adjusting the automatic tensioner, which helps significantly during regular and hard braking. -ABS system is disconnected due to the straight axle conversion. -Custom built rear drive shaft is balanced with high angle CV. -Heavy duty U-joints. -Front driveshaft and locking hubs are needed. -Front sway bar. -New front King Pin bearings and seals, upper and lower both sides in 2004. -New front wheel bearings and seals left and right sides. Wheels & Tires: -Weld Racing Super Single Wheels 16.5x14 - 8 Lug. -Denman Ground Hawg Tires 44x18.5 R16.5 -Tires have a vibration is experienced only around 40 to 45 mph, but is smooth at other speeds. -The truck has a small pull to the right due to the large tires. -The truck can fit up to around 52"+ tall tires. I prefer how the truck performs with the 44" tires. It will drive on the highway with traffic at 70+ mph turning around 2000 rpms. At that speed its road manners are fairly smooth for a truck with large tires and tall lift. -Also included with the truck is a set of 4, 8 lug stock size wheels and tires. Engine: -Vortec 5.7 Liter V8 (350 c.i.) -Automatic 4L60E transmission with transmission fluid cooler on radiator. -New Process 243c Transfer case (NP243c) with 2.72 Low Gear Ratio. -K&N Air Filter. -Dual exhaust with Thrush Mufflers. -New Duralast Gold battery. -Average of 8-9 mpg. -Engine has very small oil drip from gasket at oil filter elbow at connection point to bottom of engine block. Needs new gasket. -New high pressure power steering hose. -Regular oil changes have been done with a recent oil change. -"Service Engine Soon" light is on, when checked with automotive code scanner it found fuel to air mixture is rich. The engine performs good and I have not had any problems with it's performance. -Transmission does slip slightly when shifting from park to drive or reverse but does not slip while driving. -A/C works great. Especially with the tinted windows. -I have included as much detail about the truck as possible so that you can bid with ease knowing everything about it. The truck is sold in "As Is" condition and comes with no warranties and no guarantees. This is a custom truck that is state inspected and street legal in Texas. I do allow the buyer to inspect the truck on their own time and expense prior to the close of auction. I will gladly answer questions about the truck.
