This is my Volkswagen1986 Golf GTi that I spent over 6 years collecting parts for and restoring back to its present condition.  The exterior has just been painted (Sat. 3/27/10) a 1994 Corvette Cloissonne Blue Metallic which is an electric blue color that has a fine pearl and it just glows in the sun.  After that, I sprayed on a light dusting of Rainbow Flakes which looks really cool in the sun.  The engine is a stock, newly rebuilt 1.8 liter 8-valve overhead cam engine mated to an 020 close-ratio 5-speed transmission.  These are the original components for this car.  The entire car has been disassembled and rebuilt with new bushings, new tie rods, new front and rear struts, new Eibach coils springs, new brakes, a new steering rack, and new exhaust.  The entire engine, transmission, and brake and suspension parts have all been cleaned, sanded, primered, and painted to be as good as new.  The fuel system is fuel injection and the fuel pump, the fuel accumulator, the fuel injectors, and the fuel filter are all new.  The engine and trans and engine compartment are all painted and cleaned .  I have done a lot of custom body mods to this vehicle because I wanted it to be the car I wanted to build.  First, it has a set of 1992 GTi ground effects on it and a set of big bumpers with the fog lights in the front bumper.  The front grille is the 1992 GTi type with the four headlamps.  The hood has a hoodskin from a 1997 Mercedes SLK on it with a custom-built hood scoop in the front.  The left door has a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am door handle in it, the right door has the door handle shaved out of it and it smooth. The doors also have power window motors in them.  The roof has a 1998 VW Jetta glass sunroof in it that will either pop up or go down into the roof and is electric with the switch on the dash.  The right quarter has a 1996 Chevy S-10 gas door in it which is a round circle rather than the square one.  The back of the car has a 1997 Golf Gti wing on the roof with a BMW 325i LED third brake light in it.  It is not in the pictures because I hadn't put it on the car yet. I will add a pic of it when it is on there.  The taillights are four 1987 Corvette round taillights and the license plate is recessed in a box in the hatch and is in a bezel with a clear piece of Lexan over it so it can't be stolen.  The car has an Autopage alarm system on it that will pop the hatch for you and when you arm it, the sunroof will automatically close if it is open. The wheels are 17" X 7" 5-spoke BSA brand rims with a set of new 205/40/17 Talons on them.     The radio/sound system has an Innovatek head unit that plays CD's, MP3's, and DVD's, then I have two Sony 60-watt per channel amps to drive the 12" Sony sub woofer and the main rear Infinity 4x6 speakers.  Then, I have an Apline MRP-240 four channel amp driving the 5" door speakers and the 3" dash speakers.  And, all these amps are housed within the quarter panels behind the interior panels to save on space inside the car.  I didn't want my stereo stuff to take up any payload or passenger space inside the car.  That picture of the back of the car, if you look, the flat panel under the shelf on the left side is the sub woofer box.  I built it so it was hidden behind the carpet so it wouldn't be seen.  I figure if you can't see it, no one will no its there to steal it!!!I have spent over $10,000 and 10 years putting this car together-the only reason I am selling it is because I am desperate for money, it was NEVER my intention to sell it.  I have had 20 VW's over the past twenty years and I have spared no expense or treatment with this car.  I have been driving this car for about 8 months since it was built and it runs great, is fast, and it gets about 30 miles to the gallon if you can believe that!!  Like I said, I never thought I was gonna sell, so it is top-notch, you will be amazed.  Everything works great and is holding up just perfect.  Any questions please ask.  I could most likely arrange a delivery or meet you or something.  I can be most agreeable to any terms.  Thanks for looking.
