Opinions on "Air Bear" filter system for hot air heating?
We are considering getting a filter system when we install our new heating system (Hydro Air).
"Air Bear" was recommended and looking for opinions.
Also - is it worth it to add this in the future? Or if you don't add it now it's difficult or pointless (the system is already dirty) in the future?
Getting 2 different answers from heating guys.
Thanks.
The air bear is like many other high efficiency pleated cartridge filter.
They filter more particles than the standard 1" thick filter and have more surface area than 1" high efficiency filters since they are approximately 4" thick.
This means changing less often.
The cost of the replacement filter can seem high initially but considering changing the filter less often and the better filtering it does it works out about the same.
The cabinet is installed in the return ducting usually just before the furnace or air handler. This is why it would be cheaper labor-wise to install at the time of installation of the equipment.
